Cheryl – in her own words

Every so often life’s dreams or goals fall into place and for me in early June this year during a conversation with Marty my dream commenced. I’d been a passionate participant of a healthy lifestyle for many years, but after over thirty years of disciplined exercise and healthy eating, I needed more, “More of what” Marty asked. I replied by telling him, “At the age of thirty circumstances of life and the responsibilities of raising my two young children I had to forego an opportunity to participate in a body building (sculpturing as it was known in those days) competition”

“You can achieve that Goal” Marty suggested, “Take on a Transformation package and see where it takes you” Where did it take me, and wow what a journey!

By early June I started a diet and weights programme designed by Marty and Di (who had recently joined Positive Fit and what an impact she has made!) The weights were similar to my normal routine but now it was more intense, more precise and with results that showed. It took quite a lot of discipline to maintain the eating plan, there’s no easy way out as you only disappoint yourself and after a couple of weeks it was all part of my daily life. Apart from the diet and exercise regime I had to learn the techniques of posing and performing a personal routine, which Di instructed me on. Thankfully, both Di and Marty assured me they would not allow me participate in the competition, unless they felt I was ready.

Over the months my body changed, becoming lithe and athletic, my goal to actually compete in a competition and achieve something I have always wanted was becoming a reality! Despite my age I’ve always taken pride in my body and fitness level so I thought maybe, just maybe, I can do this and not look silly.

Every day I trained, practised my routine for the competition, absorbed totally in realising my dream, encouraged and supported by the many friends I’d made through the gym was fantastic. Starting at 5AM every day, which was already part of my daily fitness routine except now I ate my breakfast after cardio, trained with weights then upstairs to practise my posing routine.

When the big day arrived I was nervous but elated, there was so much happening I didn’t have much time to think, painted up with brown suntan, wearing a beautiful “bling” bikini, Tui did a fabulous hairstyle for me, Carol did my makeup which looked so good, I was ready.

Marty and Di drove me to the competition venue, staying and encouraging me until suddenly I was on stage!!

I am still amazed at the journey I have taken, I have achieved a dream that’s taken thirty years to achieve, but I have done it. Without the talk with Marty that June morning this would never have happened. ”It’s never too late to fulfil your dream, and it is never too late to have the body image you want”.

Cheryl’s Transformation is complete!!

Following her amazing performance last night at the WA IFBB State Championships, Cheryl’s transformation is complete.

Her journey has taken her 3 months and completely changed her outlook on life – it has been a positive influence on eveyrthing she does – from her gym training to her family and friends.

Cheryl’s training program was looked after by Martin Kelly - shown here back stage – and took into account Cheryl’s age (63), her training history as well as the aches and pains associated with weight training.

Cheryl’s eating plan was devised by Dianne Hunt – shown below backstage -  and included all the healthy eating associated with transforming anyone’s body. Treats were also included as this is an important part of any eating plan. Dianne also coached Cheryl through her posing and her on stage routine.

Cheryl was supported by her daughter Tui of Aatahua Hair and Body at the Marina, as well as Positive Fit member Carol Dinis of All Eyes Permanent Beauty in Mandurah.

 

Justin – Our newest transformation

What man doesn’t want to add muscle?

Tammy – You beauty!!

In the last 9 weeks, Tammy has now lost 10kgs!!

Fantastic!!!!!

We’re all hoping the connection has been made and now we’re onward and upward. A really good training week – 2 PT, all the sessions done and better eating – no wonder the results are starting to come now.

And for all those members following Tammy’s progress – Ali and Di are doing a great job of PT!!!!!

 

Tammy – Week #10

Bingo!!! – down more kilos – down to 143.

More of a challenge for Tammy though – she’s been given a specific target to achieve each week – a target that will ensure she does everything right – but allows a bit of leeway for the stress of real life.

Tammy has been training well – pump, step, PT sessions with Marty, Ali and Dianne.

Now just to get the eating right…..Tash has been doing a lot of work withTammy to get it right and as we all know, the eating is the key to all training and body changing.

Amazing Transformation – Cheryl – update!

The following was the story that started things with Cheryl – her latest update is even more amazing!!

Cheryl has now been training for 6 weeks – and in that time has lost 8% body fat and added 3.5 kg of muscle.

That means Cheryl burns an additional 450 kj of energy every day just by supporting her additional muscle. What does this mean? It means she burns more energy by having more muscle – even when she’s not doing anything. Her metabolism is a fat burning furnace!!

For those women who worry about their body shape, Cheryl has lost 9cm from her waist, has lost 5 cm off her butt, and 4 cm from her thighs.

Importantly her metabolic age has reduced from 32 to 16.

“Three weeks ago Positive Fit member Cheryl decided to transform herself. Even though Cheryl trains in the gym every morning, she decided after 30 years of training to really achieve!

In the subsequent weeks, Cheryl has started to transform. Despite already eating well, Cheryl has adopteda special diet prepared by Dianne, and has changed her training to program prepared by Marty and weekly sessions with Dianne and Marty.

Amazingly in that period of time Cheryl has lost 2.5 kg of body weight. Everyone who knows me knows that I’m not focussed on body weight, but more so body composition.

So….. Cheryl’s body composition has changed by losing 4% bodyfat, adding 2 kg of muscle, an improvement of 2 % in her hydration levels, an additonal burning of 250 kilojoules per day – and a metabolic age of 25!!!!!!!!!

Tammy’s Blog – Week #6

After sorting some of my life out I was able to get back on track at the gym and found that I do much better if I go in the mornings.
For me, going after work is a nightmare to organise and I feel energised for the day after getting it out of the way.
My hydration was up this week! Yay! I know…not by much, but for someone who doesn’t like to drink water I think that’s great.
I still have to keep telling myself you should be drinking NOW. I should record that and then put it on repeat every half hour!

Tammy – Week #6 – Back on Track

Tammy was feeling high this week – even completing additional sessions to get her program back on track.

And the results followed – isn’t it weird how that happens? If we train hard and work with your PT, the results follow – if you complete the reverse – the results follow!!

Week #6 saw a 1% reduction in body fat and a 1.5kg addition of muscle – anyone would be happy with that. This was combined with a 1% increase in hydration levels and a resulted in an additional burning of 150 extra kilojoules of energy every day.

As a PT i’m rapt with those results.
